In the beginning... the start of my Stimpy!

Ultra (Wizzard?) case sold by Tiger Direct. To me this looks very much like a small Chieftec Dragon!

Stimpy started as a 'bare bones' kit from Tiger Direct back in 2005. A decent mid-tower case with a UV-reactive window and a snorkel to pull in cool air to the CPU fan. AMD based ASUS A7V8X motherboard on which I installed a reasonable Duron CPU and 512MB memory. Started with Windows 2000 Workstation, later upgraded to XP Pro. Also expanded memory to 1.5 gigabytes.
I was shopping online for a UV blue case fan and UV reactive sleeving for the cables, and found this vinyl wrap on close out. This was the start of my project. |
Along with the case, I splurged buying this Ultra 500 watt power supply with UV reactive modular cables - it had a nice blue chrome finish that I never saw before or since!

When I came across a Stimpy applique at FrozenCPU.com, the wonderful Ren and Stimpy "Space Madness" episode came to mind, and: 'Stimpy, you fool- you eediot', my computer- came to be!
